Getting to dimmer switch on 00 Accord instrument panel
I'm pretty sure I fried my dimmer switch when installing a CD player a few days ago. I'm trying to get to the switch. I'm pretty close, down to the instrument panel circuit board. I can't seem to separate the circuit board from the plastic panel though. There's one push tab on the circuit board that doesn't release the board totally when I depress it. Anyone know what more I need to do? (Also, I need to find a dimmer switch).
Thanks

are you sure you fried the dimmer switch? If you don't have dash lights, you most likely killed the multiplex unit.
oh and did you check your fuses? It's easy to forget the simple stuff.
otherwise the dimmer switch isn't designed to be a replaceable component. You'll have to de-solder it from the circuit board. a replacement part will have to be scavenged from a functional cluster.
sounds like you are stuck getting the circuit board out of the cluster assembly. have you removed the gauges yet. you have to release the metal tabs on the back of them and then they lift right out.
