Air Bags Deployed, now what?
I have a 98 4-door Civic that was involved in a front end collision. It was not too bad, but bad enough to deploy the air bags.
I want to restore them to a safe usable condition. What all is needed to do this properly? Obviously the air bags themselves, but what else? Clockspring? Sensors? I have read different points of view, but still unclear.

IMO, your best bet just take it to a shop and have it repaired. you have to take it any way to have the body work done. they can restore the SRS there as well.

There's a list in the shop manual. You need to inspect the cable reel in the steering column, replace the bags and the bag controller. philosofy1's idea's not bad too. Airbags can kill you if you're careless.
Thanks for the comments but will be doing most of the work myself.
I will be taking it to a shop for a new radiator support and whatever needs to be done to replace that. The shop will only put in new air bags and computer @ $2,500. If that is the case, I will part the car out. But since it only has 70,000 miles and is near perfect condition, I would like to just put it back together as time allows.
I have access to another civic for parts, but just need to know what parts to pull.

I say get a new wheel and a passanger side air bag delete and call it a day.
For the most part the do more damage than good. Well thats if you wear the seatbelt.

Thanks for all the quick comments. Should have gone to the Helm's manual before posting. Sorry.
Looks like parts that need replaced are; the wheel, driver bag, passenger bag, SRS unit, and inspect the clockspring for signs of over-heating.

They could also revoke your insurance if you get into an accident and they should have deployed but didn't. That **** pisses insurance companies off, bad.

Just to clarify, Honda's don't have a "clockspring" like some domestics do. It's a reel of cable that reels in and out depending on the position of the wheel. The horn wiring also runs thorough the same thing.
Sorry reread. You will need to replace the front sensors, steering wheel or the airbag for it. passenger side airbag, srs control module (about 800.00 maybe less from Honda) and if your seatbelts have the new retract mechanism then you will have to replace the seatbelts that were buckled when you crashed to replace this.
That is how the newer accords are anyways because I to replace all that **** for a customer car that was wrecked. Or the service manager just wanted extra money.
