Default Type R oil pump?

Im rebuilding my gsr motor right now and was considering getting a type r oil pump since the block is already disassembled. Do you guys think i need one, or should i just not get it and save my money. Current setup:

stock gsr head
gsr block with itr pistons
i/h/e
68mm tb
test pipe

I like to run my car hard when i do. Will be doing cams and intake mani later on. Just wondering if its a waste to get an itr oil pump. thanks.

you may or may not need a new one. But you dont want to
find out the hard way you needed one if your old one decides to
take a crap for some reason.

I'd also prefer for a new one for the rebuild

What year is your GSR engine? You do realize that since 1996, all B-series oil pumps are the same, right.

They don't have to be VTEC, even the LS 96 and newer are the same as the ITR.
