ACC wires, and remote start
first off, thank you for the help fcm. in regards to this thread that was archived
https://honda-tech.com/zerothread/1803611
i got a new pager, and am now ready to install all these things we talked about.
first on the list is the radio. so before i start messing with things i wanted to run this by someone.
its my understandng that the purple ACC wire on the main alarm brain runs to the ACC lead on the igntion switch which is yellow. would it be ok to run the ACC wire coming from the HeadUnit straight to the purple wire coming out of the alarm brain?
again this is to allow the radio to power up when i remote start the car.

funny, you said the heater works but not the radio. Can you take a pic of your ignition harness were they tapped the alarm into. Some thing does not sound right.
how is that weird? the radio works fine and so does the heater in normal operation.
when i remote start it without the key, the heater works but the radio does not turn on until i put the key in.

What's funny is you said 94 integra, but the pix sure looks like a G2, [90-93 teg] and that changes things... http://www.directwholesale.net...eID=6 you will also need to connect up the blue/white 2nd ign. lead in the ign. harness, your Prestige APS-996A should have a "5th" relay built in, [green 2nd ign. output] it will be a heavy gauge along with the purple acc. lead.
Sorry for not picking up the discrepancy between your saying it was a 94 and your pix showing a G2, a 94 teg does not have the blue/white 2nd ign. lead... http://www.directwholesale.net...eID=6

no fcm, Its a 94-and up integ. It has the jdm front on it. What I ment was that he has the wires mixed up. On the teg that year if the heater comes on the radio should follow. But it could be this problem. check the fuse on the remote start harness. Its real easy to blow it it touched something up in the dash. There are two power wire that go into the remote start harness. No pics is kind of hard to say.
sry about the misunderstanding, the car has a jdm front end on. but yes its a 94
im looking at the diagram of the alarm brain right now, and i see the green wire to the 2nd igntion. but where exactly would i hook that up to?
and once that was hooked up THEN could i run a wire straight from the ACC lead in the head unit to the purple ACC wire on the alarm brain?

ok but see if the cd player ACC wire was never hooked up then it wouldnt come on right? or is it evne possible for the cd player to work without the ACC wire hooked up?
here in a minute ill remote start it up and see if the heater turns on, and ill rip out the head unit to see if the ACC wire is hooked up for the head unit

no do not pull out your headunit. The purple wire needs to go to the ignitioen harness. You could run it to the radio but I would not. What ever else that on the line would pull power thru that small gauge wire. Look at your ignition harness and tell us what wire is not touched. It a easy and real simple fix. take a pic. This is a real easy problem.
ok i undid some of the wiring and have definitely found that the green 2nd igntion wire is not hooked up. its just cut and hanging to the side. do u still need to see the rest? it seems like the green one was cut short way early, and the other continue on. im tryin to get to the rest
can you not just break it down for me? the only wire that doesnt seem to be hooked up is the green one. the purple wire seems to be already tapped into something
heres is a picture but i coldnt get the the camera to focus

here is the conclusion ive come to. Im almost POSITIVE the ACC on the head unit is not hooked up 1) because the purple ACC wire from the alarm brain is spliced into the correct wire (yellow ACC/heater blower)and the head unit still wont turn on when i remote start it (in other words have the car in the START/ON position)
and 2) i dont think i connected it because i had no idea where to connect it when i installed the radio.
the green wire is useless, this car does not even have a 2nd Ignition lead from the ignition harness anyway.
so let me rephrase the question. HOW would i wire up the Head Unit ACC wire?

First if your headunit comes on and has memorey with the key everything is fine with the radio. You need to connect the white wire with the blk strip to the extra accesory wire from the remote start
DOH!!!, my mistake, when I more then just scroll by the pix it is obvious it is a G3, and I like it, I like it a lot.
Anyway... if your HU was not connected to acc., you would be able to turn the HU on without turning on the ign., the HU would also stay on when you crank the engine to start, can you do that, and will the HU stay on?
Have you checked if the heater blower works when car is running on remote start?
Also, the green wire is not needed in a g3, there is definitelysomething wonky.
If the heater blower is not working, do as wrx_killer-sti eater suggests and check the fuses on the alarm/starters power wires, in fact just replace them with new ones to be sure, [just because a fuse does not look blown does not mean it is good.

Fcm, If this guy would take the extra green wire and attach it to the white and black wire his radio would come on when remote started. Its labeled as a second ignition but will work as a second accesory wire so no relay would be needed. I don't know why he would want to use a relay and put extra work on himself. On integra's the radio comes on with this wire not the accesory wire
hah wrx-killer i dont remember but i dont believe you made it sound that easy. thats what i was looking for. an easy answer.
i will go outside this second and check those things you asked for FCM, the blower motor, and radio. i think i was wrong thought in assuming the ACC on the head unit was disconnected because it does turn off when i crank, and i do have to turn the ignition to have it on. ill check all these things right now to clarify

ok blower and heater definitely turn on with the remote start. i cannot turn the HU without putting the key in, and it turns off when i crank it.
so now you say its as easy as connecting the green to the black and white? i can definitely get to the 2nd ignition wire, its ready to be used. just clarify ONE thing for me. what black and wire are you talking about? you mean on the ignition harness?
im reading the manual thing, and the descriptions for the Green 2nd ignition wire and the Violet ACC wire are very similar. both show 12 volts when the car is 'ON' or 'RUN' and both show 0 when its 'OFF'.
BUT the green wire says you need the key to show it, and the violet wire says all you need is the ignition switch to show this
GREEN Wire: Ignition 2 Output
Connect this wire to the ignition 2 wire from the ignition switch. This wire will show + 12 volts when the ignition key is turned to the "ON" or "RUN" position and is some cases the "START" or CRANK" position. This wire will show 0 volts when the key is turned to the "OFF" and "ACCESSORY" positions.
VIOLET Wire: Accessory Output
Connect this wire to the Accessory wire from the ignition switch. This wire will show + 12 volts when the ignition switch is turned to the "ACCESSORY" or "ON" and "RUN" positions, and will show 0 volts when the key is turned to the "OFF" and "START" or "CRANK" positions.

i was making a joke, lol. Hook up that wire. do this. Remote start your car. While its running tap 12 volts to the white and black wire. The radio will turn on.
