Civic Vx or Cx? Better for Ls/vtec swap?
i currently have a 93 ex coupe with ls/vtec,the car moves pretty good considering its weight of 2390+ b series.but the little ricers in the area can keep up with me because they all have hatches or crxs.so i want to swap my motor in in a 92-95 civic hatch vx or cx,shave like 300 pounds.which one is better for the swap they wiegh around the same, its smarter to find a vx because it is already wired for vtec correct?i am capable of running the wires for the vtec but i was just looking for a oppinion on which model would be better for a swap. thanks in advance
if there keeping up with you with stock motors than weight is not an issue. why switch over to a hatch, i suggest a tune or some cams but switching over to a whole new platform is really not needed. if you really want to switch to a hatch go with the CX it's the lightest cause honda rolled these out with only the necessities (ie: heat) that's it. just swap everything over from your ex and you wont't have to worry about vtec. (ie engine,harness,front/rear disc if you have) i personally own a CX and wish i had an EX but that's just personally speaking.

i could not agree more BUT having said that a more worth while solution would be to gut your car out then see how much those people can keep up with you and if i can not convince you to gut your car perhaps this can

oh and for anyone who might not care for gutting a car there are tasteful ways of doing this and are many pics of that in this website!

by the time you go buy a hatch.. thatll cost you what? 1500-2000? that amount of money could make your coupe got quite a bit faster? Or do you plan on swapping the stock motor from the hatch back into your coupe then reselling it?
Sounds like an awful lot of work. Granted 300 lbs is alot of weight. Id just some nice cams or something like that and keep the coupe
