Default Missing piece

The "bracket" that goes on the top of part 6/7 is missing on my car.
Now, I never took that section of the car apart until a few days ago, so I know that I didn't lose it.
I suspect the body shop forgot to put it on. Also havent checked the other side yet to see if its missing there too.

Did the 97s/98s have this piece for sure, or was it added for the 00/01 models?
How important is it?

Are you talking about the part that bolts it to the shock tower?

Only way you wouldn't have that piece is if you used a cheesy camber kit.

I think Ingalls makes a kit like that.

I'm talking about the thin little piece of metal that slides over the 2 bolts, not the assembly itself
You can see it in the picture.

They are one with the bolts IIRC.

Negative..at least on mine.
On my 2000 its a seperate piece that slides off the top of the bolts.
On the 98 its just not there.

Thats weird. I'm pretty sure when I did the 5-lug on my old h/b, I woudl grab it by the bracket and it never came apart.

Yeah, I've got a million things going through my head right now......
Part of the reason I'm asking is that I could not for the life of me get the bolts any tighter when I mounted that assembly back to the shock tower, and theres a teeny tiny little bit of space underneath where I suspect that bracket should have been.

IIRC I had to remove that whole bracket thing in order to install an ingalls kit on my old Del Sol. I dont remember if I had it on my R when I installed my Junk2 UCAs on my R.

My driveshaft on my 98 had a torn boot and was making noises so I wanted to swap the driveshaft from the 00, however we could not get the driveshaft on the 98 out of the hub.
I ended up swapping the whole hub and assembly over.

A friend with a 30 ton press just got the axle out this afternoon, and it strained the press lol.
That fugger was jammed up in there!

^ Are Skunk2 Camber Kits bad? I just picked up the fronts, planning on installing them this weekend... Should I not?

I used a sledge hammer to get mine out, then I had to dremel off the end so it would fit thru the hub

never had a problem with mine, and I have the old version. I took the safety precautions though (longer bolts, star washers, sanded down the painted surface). I dont think the newer style has that problem.
