Predictament. Stupid people.
I bought my 91' Civic DX hatch a few months back, I got it with a 92' LS motor swapped in it. Since I had bought it it starts up at about 3 grand then very slowly calms down and the engine makes a claking noise. I looked around last night changing the oil and it came to show that the previous owner who did the swap didn't make the room in the engine bay for the alternator and the belt is warped on one side and about a half inch off, hence the claking noise.
Now, should I just take the whole motor out and hammer it to make room myself?

That would be a lot of work, but if it is your last resort then do it. Unless you can take the alternator off and somehow make the dent then?
yeah but then there is the rish of hitting something else in the bay with the hammer ya know?
maybe i'll just wait for my rods, crank and pistons and just take the whole thing out.

Pull the Alt.
Option 1: use an angle grinder to cut away the in interfering metal
Option 2: Place a solid metal plate or wood block on the metal you want moved. Then place a 2' metal bar on the block with the other end sticking out of the engine bay. Pound away on the metal rod to dent in the metal that is in the way, and you don't have to worry about hitting anything in the engine bay.

Been in that same spot, drop the alternator off the block and squeeze an air hammer in there hang on and pound it until theres lots of room... Problem solved

i would do what el vap suggested.
pull the alternator, and bang away. if you dont go super crazy, you wont hit anything else.
ive had to bang out shock towers on EFs when installing a few JRSCs. motor still in place. pretty easy.

I dented my framerail with the motor in, just pull the alternator and intermediate shaft. Then get a BFH (big ******* hammer) and wrap a rag around it so u dont expletive the paint up. Goto town
