Which donut gasket for JDM header?
Are there any other options I have for the donut gasket for a JDM DC 4-1 header. I know the s2000 and the legend gaskets fit but they are like $35 bucks a piece. Do auto parts stores carry anything that big?
Any 2.5" donut gasket works. An older acura legend, or an s2000 works fine. I just ordered another one from hparts.com. the s2000 one. I think it was like $17
Is the gasket 2 pieces or 1? Because I called a local Auto Zone and asked for a 94 Acura Legend donut gasket and they told they had it in stock but it was 2 pieces. And they are both $2.89 each! Isn't that kinda low considering the lowest I've seen a 2.5 gasket was $20? They reassured me it was the O gasket that connects the ex manifold to the cat.
Here is a pic of a gasket but I can't tell if the pic on the far left is another comparison or it really is 2 pieces.

it's 1 piece.
I just had a 2.5" custom collector made for my JG/edelbrock header at a friends muffler shop (Eastsidemuffler/palmdale CA). We used a 2.5" donut on it. I"m confused as to what a 2-piece donut is? never seen one. Here's a pic of mine..

Can you just go to any muffler shop and they'll have a 2.5" o gasket? Maybe the one that AutoZone has is the wrong one. I could just order it online but I don't want to wait for it to be shipped. I'd rather try to find it locally and get it right away.

Who installed the gasket?
What's your exhaust system setup?
etc...
How about some more detailed info about your issues rather than hating upon a shop?
I use the same gasket we sell on the JHP site and mine don't leak at all. I think you need to look into whoever installed it on your car, whoever installed it may have done some kinda of shitty install job. And, if it ultimately IS a leaking gasket....see what Sheng can do to fix your situation.
**katman -- who wonders why customers are so-quick to bash a shop if something is wrong with a product or if it's installed wrong because of user error.**
I got mine from the Honda dealer.
Part number: 18229-PCX-003

I called 2 dealers...one said $23.50
, the other said $33.90
, hondaautoparts.com $17.99
plus shipping

It's just a 2.5in donut gasket. As already stated, many V8's, old & new, come with them stock. Go to the damn auto parts store, and ask someone for a 2.5in donut gasket. It's that simple. They should have a pair of calipers available to measure the hole if you end up dealing with a moron who doesn't know what size the gaskets are in the box. It should be around $7. Do this, or spend the $20 for a "genuine" JDM gasket. *rolls eyes*

I guess thats what I'll do
Just want to make sure what I need to get and where before I put the freakin thing on. We don't want a exhaust leak now do we?
No freaking clue, that's the number that came on the directions for my DC JDM 4-1. Obviously its a USDM part, because it only took 1 day for the dealer to get it in stock. Cost me $20.
