Default H22A Turbo Crx...think there is enough room in this bay :)

Just thought I would see what you guys think of the possibility of making this thing turbo and how to go about it ...obsticles I see are the clutch conversion system and the alternator...of course I would like to keep the radiator I have but the pictue doesnt lie there is about 8" from flange to slim fan at it's closest point then about 9" till radiator and 10" till hood latch cross beam... what you guys think? This is going to be my first turbo car...my fab skillz are up to par to make something function and look nice...first thing is probably deciding on which manifold style log/shorty?

Plans:
T3/T4 .63 57 trim Garrett external 38mm tial WG 2.5" downpipe...

get a smaller radiator then you'll at least have a chance...

yeah, nowway that radiator is staying, and ur gonnda have to cut the member where the latch sits to clear the WG.

thats a possibility, I can also put the fan on the other side of the radiator forgot bout that push or pull i think it is...have the downpipe on the pass side...and WG and then run the IC piping through the crack between the radiator and the frame since it's a 3/4 length non AC radiator and out to intercooler...weld on a special bend on the driver side intercooler inlet to kick out back towards the turbo and engine like a srt4 inercooler... im only wanting to boost 6-8 psi on stock internals so a smaller intercooler is ideal like 5.5"x25x2.5"

If I didn't have the stock gas tank in the back thats where it would of gone haha jp

You can make it fit, the only issue I would look into if you are going with a log manifold, is to make sure the turbo does not stick out to much. With a log there is only so much you can angle the turbo down. I would look into a ram style manifold, just because you can position the turbo close to the block.

I also would convert to a half radiator, and stick the fan on the other side of the radiator. Just watch the temps to make sure the fan is working efficiently.

ya thats kinda what I thought was the problem after looking at some logs that it's angled further out and obviously for a reason so it wont hit the block like you said the ram horns do look like you can get them closer in...

Well basically anything with a collector could be angled more.

1/2" style Civic radiator will work the best for you.

It also depends on which manifold you choose.

put the alternator down as far as it can go and build a top mount!

a 'ram' manifold will be awkward because of hood clearance.

I predict that the clutch actuator is going to be a huge pita.

im thinkin and thinkin just need to dig in I guess...lil shorty may be my answer for ease...yes if I put the intake side on the passenger side be lil to no room for filter...

I get the manifold done I am home free...hardest part...pain in the neck but I think im going to work around the radiator and it's surroundings...

didn't know esp was in WA. anyways, i would think you would definitely need a half core radiator.

Get yourself a 1/2 size radiator, and start cutting. lol I have a really good friend with a turbo GSR in his rex and there wasnt enough room for the radiator support when he was done. Lots of goodies in a small space makes it real hard to look clean as well. I think with enough improvisions you should have enough room.
