Can't fit downpipe with new radiator! Clocking flange?
Hey guys,
I decided to upgrade my radiator to a triple core and get a slimline fan only now there is not enough room to fit the downpipe to the turbo as the rad sticks out to far.
It's a t3 turbo and a cast manifold, am wondering if you can still get them clocking flanges for turbos that people used with the spa topmount manifold? That way i could move the turbo slightly for more room.
Other than that i'm stumped unless i fork out for a thinner radiator.

Which way is the turbo facing? if the dp is on the passenger side that is the problem, the cast manifold were designed to have the turbo's dp face the drivers side.
Without a picture i can't begine to offer help as to how to solve your fitment issue. Sorry

Thanks for the replys, the downpipe is facing the drivers side (rhd SiR). I don't think i'm gonna be able to get hold of a clocking flange from anywhere so i'm stumped.

If you really want to stick with that radiator, I would just rotate it slightly from this position "|" to "/" (looking from the top).

I'll have a look and see if i can rotate the rad, i think even if i did position the turbo the other way it would still hit the rad?

If you flip the turbo, it will actually sit much closer to the engine, in which case, you may need to trim the webbing on the block (the comp housing might rub). Also, if you flip the turbo, you're going to have to fab up a new downpipe.

Ok well the turbo should be facing the other way to use the manifold properly. But if you insist on leaving it the way you have it then i can offer this help.
Take the flange and cut it off the downpipe clost to the flange. Then use a section of a bend or use pie cut section of tubing to connect the downpipe back up to the flange.
But i ask why not just flip the turbo and make a new downpipe. and can't see the turbo hitting the radiator.
idk i guess i don't see the difficulty in this. Looks very straight forward. Remember if you can't figure it out maybe you should call a shop and have them take care of it.
