Default Brake Rotors

What are some good brake rotors I should pick up for my 1998 civic lx ? What good brands are out there? Does cross drilled rotors make a difference? And I only have front brakes right?

Get brembo blanks or any blanks for that matter, you're not going to auto-x it or anything. Dont get cross drilled or slotted, doesnt do squat for a street car.

You do have rear brakes

why brembo blanks?

how can u say drilled/ slotted wont do anything on the street.

I have got my brakes to fade really easily on the street after some spirited driving, sure they are only stock, but an upgrade has to do something better than stock.

and dont get drilled if anything, they are prone to crack.I would get slotted if u are looking.

this thread will become a im right you are wrong about drilled/slotted rotors, but i still think blanks perform better by having more surface area.

Get good pads, like HPS, you will notice a huge difference.

the main reason i think for upgrades rotors is heat dissipation, which will reduce brake fade. the cooler the brake fluid stays the less likey u are to have fade. pads will work to grab harder, but more friction makes more heat.

then you could use some DOT 4 fluid, which is 100% compatible with DOT 3

Unless you're buying the big brake upgrade, yes they are OEM size.

No it doesn't.

Will you people stop posting like this. You just make some outrageous statement and then give no information to back it up. Most of it is something you heard from some moron at the "street races".

No one needs your misguided input.

just go to autozone and get some oem replacements. cheap as pie and do the same thing. even slotted rotors can crack.

dont get drilled they do crack when they heat up.. i suggest getting slotted brembos all slotted rotors do btw is catch brake dust that would normally stay on your rotor if you had blanks

i suggest getting slotted rotors with steal brake lines and some good pads

well i had some pbr ceramic brake pads streets with brembo slotted/drilled rotors and it worked okay. After 6 months though the rotors were warped dont know how? then 3 months after my pbr brake pads started to chip and make loud screaking noises. Setup i have now which will go in tomorrow is oem resurfaced rotors with hawk hps pads...In your case i'd go with my setup that i chose.
