Default zc vtec

is there anyway to convert a dohc zc to vtec??? its weird becasue this motor i bought has wires ran for vtec to the ecu and the wires go right to this solenoid on the head which looks very much like a vtec solenoid.....ive been meaning to put premium gas in it everytime i fill it up but i always forget so i have no idea....im just seeing if its possible because what else would these two wires ran to this solenoid be??

no, not without sacrificing reliability

place a sohc HG on a dohc block and you will see why

That's a CYL sensor, not a VTEC solenoid. And no, you can't slap a VTEC head on a DOHC ZC block so don't ask.

Calm down, I was just answering your question man. Sorry if it sounded like I was being sarcastic.

Just curious, you say it has wires ran for VTEC to the ECU. Are you sure that's what it is? Anyways, as stated already, you're probably looking at the cylinder sensor at the end of the exhaust cam. It's only wired that way because on the regular D-series engines, that sensor is actually integrated into the distributor so you don't ever see it (or the wiring). Hope that clears it up for you.
