Im about to buy a used 1995 civic cx hatchback, and it has a rear wiper. So is it an option that was added at the dealer in 1995, or is the girl who is selling the car lying ?

Yes, it does have a passenger air bag. Every trim model (cx vx dx lx ex si) all have a passenger airbag in 94 and 95. 92 and 93 they did not.

As far as a rear wiper, its a possibility that it does. My 95 CX has the necessary hardware for a rear wiper, just not the wiper itself, or the controls for it. You don't want a rear wiper anyways. My old EG had one, there useless, and the blades are expensive to replace because nobody has that size.

My 94 doesn't have a rear wiper. The best way to check on the actual trim is to get the vin number. The 8th digit of the vin will tell you the trim level.

4 = CX
5 = DX
9 = VX
8 = Si

And in 1994 the DOT made passenger air-bags manditory in all passenger cars...

Maybe my car doesnt have airbags because its a canadian 1995 cx hatchback ?

 

Or maybe they swapped dashes? My old 95 DX didnt have a passenger airbag because I put a 92 dash in
