Default So I painted my Valve Cover today

I had a little too much free time on my hands today and the weather was beautiful so I decided to paint my valve cover. IMO it looks pretty shitty but I dont really care maybe I will redo it. Comments Welcome.

You forgot to take off the duct tape before you started painting.

Does anybody have any tips for me? How do people tape off elaborate designs such as the rising sun (I dont want to do it) but I am just wondering about the procedure.

dont go "elaborate" just go clean. like if you decide to go, i dunno, green? get a can of primer, paint stripper, primer, the actual paint you want and a can of gloss. and if you wanna go fancy, sand off the letters and make them bare metal or somthing.

i suggest you redo it....practice is key in my opinion. It took me 5 tries to get my valve cover the way i wanted it....

i say redo too. if you dont have much experience painting, keep it simple 1 tone, and practice on something else till you get the hand off 2tone
