Default Yokohama AVS ES100 Yes/No

Well I just remembered that I have a set of Yoko. AVS ES100 from my old car with only about 1000 miles on them. Same exact dimensions as the Si tire.

Should I swap the factory all-seasons which seem to be getting alot of bad rep for the Yokos?

I had ES100's on my R. I HATED them. They wandered, crappy traction and mushy sidewalls. Sell both sets and get some good tires.

I have them on my R right now. They are pretty good for the money. Really good in rain, decent traction. Not a track tire but an acceptable everyday tire.

In San Antonio??. Now that's funny!

No.

I'm just wondering if they'll work better for me at the track than the factory all-seasons. Don't really need all seasons anyway. Here in S.A. TX we get TWO seasons...........Summer, and a cooler summer.

They are an okay tire, but nothing great. I would imagine them to be better than the OEM Michelin A/S tires. I never found them to be all that great in the rain, but definitely not the worst. Probably not a big deal in SA, but don't get overconfident in their wet traction. The Avon M500 from Tirerack is a better inexpensive UHP summer tire, should you be interested in replacing the Yokos later on.

Not really...I have more miles on my stock tires than I do on the AVS Yokos. They've just been sitting in my garage.

The ES100 will offer more grip.

If they're better in anyway then that's good enough for me. I know they're not the best and i'm okay with that cause i'll be upgrading my wheels and i'll get the best tires when I do that.

Soft in that it is tuned more for ride comfort than maximum cornering performance. Adding extra air helps mitigate this.

Look it up at tirerack.com and read the owner surveys and the performance reviews.

They are fine budget performance tires but they are a bit loud when worn and a few performance generations behind the latest summer tires. I would rock em till they wear out or get unbearably loud and replace them with something a bit newer. I have had really good luck with the Kumho Ecsta SPT for the money, but if you are willing to spend more the Goodyear F1 GS-D3 is an excellent tire.
