Rattling inside engine.
I have a 2002 RSX type S. When i get to just about 2500 rpm, there is a rattling/vibration noise coming from the engine area. The noise tapers off around 3000 rpm, and is not heard below or above these rpms. Also, after the car is warmed up, a lighter rattling noise can be heard at idle, which sounds as if it is coming from the transmission. What could this be?
The noise is coming from the valve cover plate.
The item that says "Ivtec" on it.
Its been known to come loose after time.
Just get a 10mm and tighten the 2 bolts up and you should be fine.
