Check your ignition system. Test the wires, replace the distributor cap/rotor if they haven't ever been replaced.

My vote is main relay or distributor.

If it is a spark issue, then coil or ignitor.
Fuel issue, then MFR.

Yes indeed it sounds like the dreaded Main Or Fuel Relay. On earlier models such as the DA chassis, the soldering on the relay is not held up tight enough so once It gets hot, the solder points gets real soft almost like it melts and when the car cools down, It freezes back up so that is how you can start the car again. I've fixed plenty of older cars with this problem. But then again it could be the coil or ignitor too. I know I had that problem before because of the excessive heat it endure (sign that is about to give out). Anyways Good Luck.

It's definitely something electrical. I would guess the main relay also. I just replaced mine recently.

i would bet on your ignition module...usually these fail out when they get hot, then once cooled return to normal working condition until they get hot and fail again...when we test them we normally run the test 4-5 times and if bad normally we see it fail around the 4th time

everyone is so quick to say main relay this and main relay that, but in 9 years of working on hondas i have only seen 2 bad main relays....not as common as everyone thinks
