Sounds like it could be a decent buy if it really isn't too beat up.

This R has been for sale for at least 4 months already. I know because I was on a market for one for the last year. I talked with the seller on the phone and he said the body isn't perfect and also car needs some minor engine work. He also said that he would sell the car for $9k cash, maybe even less....

Might be a good deal. I might even go check it out one day and tell you guys some details

 

Looks like a good R that needs some TLC. In the right hands I think it can be revived.

Yeah, it was a clean title and I'm pretty sure that the guy who is selling it is actually the original owner.
I remember that I ran a carfax report on this one but I just can't remember all the details

im really thinking about getting it as a track car

Since I'm in Chicago and the seller is in Arlington Heights (which is like 20 minutes away) I could take the car for a test drive.
Here is what i'm going to do, I will call the guy tomottow again and see if I can arrange a test drive for the weekend. I will let you know what I think of the car, and I will also try to give you more details

don't bother.. a guy is supposedly coming to leave a deposit today, and if he doesn't show or changes his mind I'm going to buy it..
