iPod Car Audio Hookup for 98 Accord
I want to get an iPod adaptor for my car, is their any chance someone makes one that can play the song through my factory LCD screen, or rather show its info while being able to control the music with my ipod or factory head unit, anybody?
The closest thing I have seen to what you are describing is the KS-PD100 made by JVC but it only works with Ipod Ready JVC headunits. It also charges the ipod while in use so that's a nice touch. Complete control is done through the headunit with all the file info intact.
I have it and I like it. The only bad thing is that you can't access video files on your ipod(which is a good for safety).
You may just want to buy an aux Y adapter that plugs into your ipod headphone jack and plug the red and white rca plugs into your aux input on your headunit.
The only downside to this is having to balance out the volumes on both the ipod and the headunit and maybe not getting as good a sound(debatable).
The Y adapter is the cheapest solution. This along with a nice mp3/phone holder would probably be your best bet.

Pioneer has one similar to the one JesseCRX mentioned. I heard that it only works well with the touch screen, but my friend has one with his regular DIN sized Pioneer headunit and it works. The only problem is you have to stop at each artist, so lets say you want an artist that beings with M, you have to go through every artist beginning with A,B,C, etc... Maybe it allows an easier way with the touch screen who knows. Regardless, it is cool and probably safer than messing through your ipod while driving.

Exactly.
I always have my ipod set on shuffle and leave it alone. It's too much trouble to be messing with it while driving.
The JVC interface unit is cool because it allows me to control everything from my remote control. No more having to lean over to switch tracks or adjust volume.

You can buy my Alpine 9856 with has the direct connection to an Ipod. You can control everything through the headunit and not have to touch the ipod.
