Default Viper owners: 800ESP recommendation?

I think it was a good deal in my opinion, bought a 800ESP-2 2002 model alarm for $200. My question is, how easy is it to install these alarm? I know DIY voids warranties but I can't seem to find a shop that would install it for less then a $100. (most places want to charge me $200+ just for install)

Any recommendation? I hope this is worth the investment. Someone was trying to jack into my car through the window ('93 teg 4-dr, no frames around the window) so at least I can scare them away...

Also...what else should I get besides the back up battery siren. The car has powered window, I actually bought a scanning LED sensor for $20 from the same guy, he gave me great deal on the package. Also what's this "hood pin" everyone's talking about? I just want to scare the living crap out of anyone getting near my car. 125dB x4 plenty. My stock alarm used to set off the horn at night that I got complaints from the neighbor sheriff. (POS alarm goes off for no reason!) Anyway...please help me on my first alarm.

the hood pin is basically a pin switch which gets pushed down when your hood is closed.. and when your hood is opened it pops up telling the alarm brain that the hood has been opened and thus to sound the alarm.. kinda like your door trigger on your doors and trunk....

in addition to your batt back up.. you might want to get internal sirens so it can blast the theifs ear while he's inside your car, hood lock (to lock the hood so it cant be opened and they cant cut your alarm wires, siren wires, or steal your intake, plug wires, jump your starter, or mess w/ your motor), you might want to get a pager which pages you when your alarm goes off so you can come out and kick the living **** out of the theif... in addition to your shock sensor you might want a proximity sensor... also in addition to your alarm.. you might put in manual kill switches that work independantly of the alarm (ones that must be disabled even after the alarm is).. and a visual lock/deterrant like the autolock and Club... I have small LED's that blink on my door panels.... you might also want to add air horns in addition to the underhood siren.. I connected my air horns (controlled by my horn button) to my alarm brain.. so now in addition to being able to honk loudly at people.. my air horns also go off when my alarm does.. its pretty loud..when my alarm goes off..
