Default CRX-VTEC!!!!!

HOW CAN I TELL FROM A D16Z6 TO D16Y8 HEAD SINCE I HAVE ONE AND CANT TELL, NEED INFO PLANNING ON BUYING CAM GEAR. SINCE BOTH ARE VTEC

loose the caps. it should have a pj2 stamped by the headers for a y8 head

all sohc cam gears will work. hell i used a b series cam gear on my a6 i think. lol. worked fine.

The Y8 has a + / - 4.5 degree difference, or some number around there.

Wow...the title of this thread should be 'Identifying SOHC VTEC heads?' not CRX VTEC!!!!!

But ya, there is a stamp to what tye of engine the head come off, infact the head will have a year stamped into it.

exactly.... that's why some people say they searched and nothing came up.


people who put the wrong thread title deserve a just as much as people who dont use the <u><FONT COLOR="red">SEARCH</u></FONT> function.


and most adjustable cam gear companies make the SOHC gears universal.

thanks bro i searched my head and itsa d16z6 it has a po8-4stamped so now i know thanks guys and ill keep hitting vtec over at puerto rico
