Default scratched side skirts...help

So I just purchase some side skirts from a local guy for $10 which is off from his '99 Si to be put on my '95 coupe. Yeah $10 because it had a few scratches on the skirts.

So question is anyone have any good ideas as to how I could fix up the scratches? (will try to get picture of the skirts) Passenger side skirts I believe isn't too badly scratched up but driver's side is pretty noticable.(it's noticable!)

I was thinking about maybe just sanding it down/off a bit then paint it but what number or sanding would I use? Or is there like some kind of paste of some sort I can put on it to cover up the scratches and then sand it and paint it? <---was thinking about bondo? Think that'll do? Never used it before.

Well any ideas or help if you've had scratched side skirts before let me know. TIA and any help is greatly appreciated!

I just used some duplicolor for mine. My hatch is VSM, so the color was easy to match.

What's VSM?

Well yeah I'll paint it up with some duplicolor, but what did you do to fix the scratches? They're not really too deep but it's pretty noticable. Today I went and bought some sanding grid #2000 very fine. Works good for the small blemish but not enough for the bit deeper scratches so I will go buy a different grid sand #. I guess so far so good for the little stuff? Only tired it on a small part of the skirt so not done yet.

But anyways if anyone has any other ideas as to how I can get the scratches off without sanding it down too much let me know. Any ideas would help.

here's the picture of the skirt. See one is clean the other scratches. Let me know if you have any other better ideas. Scratches aren't too deep. Most likey some sanding and then repaint I take it?

Id sand them down with something like 80 grit to get rid of the deep scratches, then smooth them out with a 200 grit, and maybe 400 if you want them to be super smooth. As far as paint, do you want to color match them or just want the flat black look? You can get Dupli-Color trim paint and spray them with that, it will look like the factory unpainted trim.

STUPID PICTURE!!
Well okay sounds good I'll try those grit #s but someone also said "Them scratchs look deep though may need to sand to fiberglass and put a thin coat of bondo..." think that may be needed too or no?

Oh as far as painting it I guess I'll have to paint them. Because they're from the 99-00 si don't know if that's a big difference. But my younger bro has a '97 civic and his is just that flat back prime look, no paint. So guess I'll paint it, I'll see. But Thanks guys
