Default 98 Accord wont unlock

Need your help please. Car is a 98 Accord Sedan, both passenger side doors wwill not unlock with OEM Keyless Entry. I assume that it's the actuators. Have any of you experienced this as well? What actually needs to be purchased or done? Can i buy a universal aftermarket actuator or what? Thanks for your time and i appreciate any assistance in this.

yes the newer type actuators do fail pretty often; 98 was the year the "product cheapening Dept." took over the company, but the price for them is lots cheaper as well; around $45 each
Will the doors unlock with the door lock control ?
I think that before you run out and buy parts you might consider a correct diagnoses, such as pull the door panel and be sure the lock actuator is getting correct power.

using the unlock switch inside the car, no neither door on the passenger side unlocks. what do i look for to ensure that each actuator is getting correct power? i can get universal type actuators for much less than that, so i just wonder if theyre about the same thing. i have yet to take the panels off. thanks

well when ya get the panel off you'll see the connector to the actuator, test right there for power when someone flips the switch.

I had to replace 3 of my lock actuators on my 99 Accord. I called up a dealership and asked how much it would cost to get it repaired, got told they would charge $270 for each door. Went online bought 3 new actuators, ones for front cost me $20 and $25 each for 2 back ones. The back ones are REALLY easy to do, take the door pannel off and the actuator sits right there, just unbolt it and put in the new one. The front right door was a pain to do just because where the actuator itself sits. Overall not too dificult, never done it myself before and didnt use any manual, the front door actuator took about hour and 20 minutes to replace, the back ones are really like a 5 minute job each.

before you spend time troubleshooting do the following

turn everything off in the car
set the intermittent wiper ring on the right stalk to the middle position (leave wipers off)

turn car on but do not start it.

if your stuff starts working problem solved. if not then troubleshoot it

is there an actual fuse for them or will one of the acc. relay fuses be it? i don't want to pull out too many fuses and have to reset the factory radio code.

Bought my actuators from here... http://www.thehondapartsstore.com/ make sure you buy right ones, cause they differ depending on which door/side.
