Default IS THE D16Z6 A V-TEC?

Im sure it is but im trying to prove to someone that my car's engine swap is a v-tec.here's pictures of the head that is a v-tec head right?

yup, the block stamped d16z6 and the vtec solenoid is located top left of the valve cover near the distributor.

yeah that is deffinately a vtec engine...just cuz it doesnt say it on the head doesnt mean its not vtec

Yes, that green plug in the top left corner by the motor is the VTEC solenoid connector.

D16z6 VTAK FTL... just messing with you, yes that's as vtec as it's gonna get for a d series. Now your next step is to stop associating with the person that told you it's not vtec!

well first off no i dont have a skyline, i just like them. and second i just wanted to say that. im not a noob. just having fun........besides the dude posted last year surely he knows its vtec by now

Apparently they don't do much reading in Reading, PA.

Variable valve Timing and Electronic lift Control.

It's a secondary cam lobe that's locked into place by a pin activated by an ecu signal and specific oil pressure. It allows the primary lobe to spin freely, and changes the cam timing profile, allowing for different things, depending on the application. It can:

Improve Fuel Economy
Increase Horsepower/Accel
