Default Picking up an R

So i decided to cancel the order on my 07 Si and go with an R.

Took a 45 min. trip to Conn. yesterday to look at this

https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1782284

I got him to 15,000 for it stock, besides the suspension (stock is coming with the car just not on it).

It has a small ding in the passenger 1/4 panel from what looks liek a shopping cart.

My only concern is while looking over the motor, i saw a few drops of liquid near the head gasket, so i asked him if it was leaking and he said that he had to change the vtec solenoid and while changing it, it just dripped down a little bit.

My question is if that isn't the case, he has only put 1,000 miles on the car since Oct. 15th, could the headgasket not be expanded like it should be due to lack of heat from the motor not being used??

Either way, i offered 14 cash and he accepted. So I left a deposit and I just have to wait for the bank to hook it up with a few grand I need, hopefully by the end of the week it will be in my hands

I forgot to ask/check what number it was, I was to busy inspecting the VIN's to make sure they all matched which they did

Nice, thing looks great. You'll have much more fun in that. Nice ride!!!!
I wouldn't think the head-gasket is leaking at that mileage.

i know i should have taken pictures of it, but i was looking the car over from top to bottom, front to back...i honestly just forgot to take the camera out of the car.

i think the ding can easily be pulled out by dent wizard and with whatever is leaking i think it's due to lack of driving or from when he changed the vtec solenoid

i corrected that for your haha

i do want to drive it for a few days and make sure that it isn't the headgasket leaking. so when i get it if you wanna check it out that would be cool.

and if you do decide to do that to the ole gsr, make sure to get my J's intake back so i can use it on the R. and the jdm front while your at it

i just explained it to another person and they said something about the seal for the vtec solenoid if it isn't seated the correct way it will drip like that

i highly doubt its the headgasket, but rather safe than sorry

like i said, its 9 yrs old in a few hours so it isn't perfect.

the one ding needs to be pulled, the itr wheels need tires, and he put it back to stock for the price...but i think it' s stll a great deal

the car is 9 years old but since 94 it's kept up with every newer model i'd say, and it's still keepin up, good choice with the R though..
