The R turns 70 and gets T-boned as a birthday gift :(

Friday night this stupid bitch shot out of parking lot into traffic and nailed me. I tried to avoid her but could only swerve so far without hitting the on-coming cars. She looked about 10 years older than she probably was, used and abused, probably on something, driving an old beater Chevy Corsica and had no insurance. The cop gave her two tickets. Hopefully my insurance will be kind to me, I have Nationwide and they have been pretty good in the past.
What's really F'd up is this is the same road right by my neighborhood that I've had 2 other motorcycle wrecks on at the fault of the other driver. I think it's out to kill me or something - maybe it's time to move
Anyone have any guesses on how much damage $$$ this is going to be? And has anyone had recent experience with insurance companies putting values on a Type-R? I'm curious what they think it's actually worth.
Thats going to run you 4-6k and you can probably push for a whole new paint job. All depends on where you bring it and what they choose to fix or replace completely. Person to ask would be Bradsterd, he had a similir accident in his ITR, after that he got a jdm front if i remember correctly.
Damn
The car is definitely not totaled, i don't think. I think if you just replace the door with a new one and have a body shop do the rest of the fixings and the paint, it shouldn't be that much. Good luck with that man, and sorry for your loss.

New doorskin ,fender, wheel ,and rear 1/4.. Don't accept any bondo...
A good bodyshop can weld the rear 1/4 and make it look like nothing ever happened..
But if you do get a new door the vin's won't match
Do you have uninsured collision by any chance?

Had the same thing happen in my Nissan p'up back in June. Except my truck was a total loss. Some (stupid female) t-boned me in an 03 Malibu & left the scene. But the cops got her. Good luck on your caR.
I guess now is a bad time to tell you that your R is the lone remaining R in the 'Ville. #435 was sold a few weeks ago.
There's not any just off the charts body shops in this area, but I'd take it to Lewis Collision, they have the best equipment, I have a friend there, I can have them put there best tech on it.

i was thinking about saying something along those lines, like BlueR, it'll polish out
that sucks big ones. i do hope very much that the slag in question is going to be forced by the courts to pay for the damage to your car?

Damn, sorry to hear. She looked like she was mint beforehand. GL with the insurance. The front right suspension looks like it needs work too
that sucks man. Its not totalled though. Probably about 3-4 K in damage. Good luck and let us know how it goes with the Insurance
They might be able to smooth out the rear 1/4 panel, but they will use some bondo. If a bodyshop knows what they are doing, like was said a new rear 1/4 won't be noticable.
How important is it to have the little vin tag on the car? Get OEM honda parts and you'll have a Honda stamp, but it won't be the oem vin tag.
Or you could get crafty with a scanner and thermal printer

The vin's are on the doors and removable panels right?
Or are they also on the bodyparts of the car?...
Just get hefty with a thermal scanner/ printer...

I wouldn't want a new rear 1/4 I used to work at a junk yard sawing 1/4 cuts off cars, I wouldn't feel right knowing that 1/4th of the car wasn't the original body and just some **** welded on...
they'll more than likely total it dude. that's what i'd hope for if I were you... buy it back, pull out the 1/4 dents and bondo it out then get a new door and all the other parts that are fucked and turn into a track ho.

Ouch man I'm really sorry to hear/see that.
My car had similar damage but to a much lesser extent and to fix it correctly it was a bit over 3500.
To replace the door, fender and reskin that qtr and the other assorted damage I'd guess in the 6k range.

Honda sells brand new rear 1/4 panels. Take it to a bodyshop that will order a new one. It isn't that much more money than a chopped-up used one.
