test pipe hitting heat shield
Ok,
Well I just installed an invidia test pipe and its hitting the heat shield that is attached to the floorboard. Its touching from the rear of the testpipe where it connects to the exhaust.
Is that common for that to happen, you can't really adjust the test pipe angle, so Im guessing I put it on there right !!
What do I do? It sounds horrible, do you guys think just taking off the heat shield will be the easiest solution ?

it should cure itself, exhaust rattles against heat-shields are common

On another car that I owned the test pipe did the same thing. You can usually get under there and see what part is making contact then just bend that part out of the way....problem solved, cost $0
Go under the car and loosen all of the bolts on teh TP. Retighten them at equal rates making sure the TP isn't making contact with the heat shield as you go. Once the bolts are completely tight, make sure once again that the TP isn't making contact with the heatshield. Problem solved. Solve it correctly and don't worry about it. Don't leave it like it is.

Got the problem solved. I guess the gasket shifted on me when I was thighting everything up. So I took it apart made sure the gasket was seated right and tightened everything up and it works fine now no rattle.
But i also pushed the heatshield in a little so that it would give me a little more room between that and the flange. It was to close for my taste. didn't want it hitting at all
Thanks for all the help guys
