Default turbo charging a 07 honda fit, concerned about 10:4 comp ratio

i am fabricating a turbo on my son's 07 honda fit. i'm used to working with superchargers. i was researching the compression ratio on the fit and specs say it has a 10:4 comp ratio. i'm concerned that maybe too high. the turbo i have chosen is a t/3 with 7 pounds of boost. not trying to make it a race car, just want to give it a little more zip. any info would be appreciated. thanks

Welcome to Honda-Tech!

What are the specs on the t3 turbo you will be using?

Dont worry about the 10.4:1 ratio, many of us boost stock Honda motors that run a compression ratio similer to this. Just be very conservative in the tune so you dont melt anything.

what is there to tune with on these cars, that should be the only concern.

that c/r is not bad at all im running about 10:1 on a 35lbs of boost race motor next year...
it all comes down to tuning.. get something that can control both the fuel and ignition timing and that c/r will be fine.....

good luck with your build hope everything works out

thanks for the replies! i am a newby to the turbo world although i have torn down and rebuild B&M superchargers and built supercharged engines. with supercharers, the lower the compression the more boost you can run. i usually build a motor with 8:5 to1.
i really don't want to pull the motor and swap to dish pistons if i don't have to.
the t/3 turbo has a internal wastegate. unfortunately i don't have much more info on the turbo. any suggestions on where i can get software to adjust the timing and fuel ratio on this car? again, thanks everyone for the info.

While not the best solution, you probably can run a universal piggyback and some larger injectors and get the car to run well enough to keep it from blowing itself up. With the car being so new, I'm not sure how much info will be out there on getting this thing to run with a turbo. Maybe call Skunk2, they built a turbo Fit for a TV show.

skunk2? is that someone on this site. i know it can be done. like i said, i'm not trying to make a street rocket. just want to give it a little pull. if i can get some insight from someone who has done it before i'm all ears. i know the short block isn't built for anything extreme. any info on how to contact skunk2 would be in the right direction. thanks

I'm not sure what ECU control the Fit uses, it could be k-pro i think. Definetly look into engine managment and i seems it would be a good idea for you to let someone else tune it. From what i understood you're mechanically skilled, but i'm not sure if you could tune it yourself.

im pretty sure that you can run their K-Pro system on the fit engine. tons of features for the price and a VERY good system. i run it in both of my turbo hondas. very good/informative website as well.
