Engine heat killing purpose of CAI, any help?
I have been noticing lately that after running my car for a while that my intake piping is incredibly hot. I have a CAI on the CRX, with the filter in the bumper. The piping is so hot though, I can hardly touch it for more than a second or two after running the car for a little while. I have the main fan in the bay, and it's blowing right at the distributor/battery/intake...but it is still getting hot. Anyone have any suggestions as to cool down the air going to the intake tube itself, or is it even making any difference since the air is moving through there so fast in the first place?

a phenolic spacer will help cool your intake manifold, and in turn help cool your intake pipe. also, a high flow muffler will take a good bit of heat out of the engine bay
I've got a DC sports ceramic coated header on there... I still have the original head shield though, how and where can I attach it to the head/header to use it?

you can do one or both of two things - get some muffler tape - which will keep more heat in the header/exhaust when you wrap it, and/or there is a heat reflective tape that you can wrap your cai with that will reflect up to 40% of the heat around it. do either or both of these and you should have a much cooler intake - at least the inside of it.
