Was that the tires chirping or the turbo making angry noises?

You can't really hear any tire chirping/spinning that was the BOV making all the bird noises. The tires are spinning well into 4th. Haven't went past the middle of 4th yet. Kind of afraid, at least I admit it.

yeah it is a very sick thing.

funny part is a turbo sohc with some BFGs would probably murder it due to massive amounts of wheel spin, why make all that power and not equip your car with some nice tires??????

I mean it spins but no single cam is going to smoke it unless it is has a better power to weight ratio than me. The fastest car I raced was a very gutted N/A EF on a 120 shot (that's what he said) that weighs 2100 with the driver in it. My car probably weighs about 2300 without me... add 195lbs call it 2500lbs. The Ef puts out about 200whp N/A plus the 120 shot. We rolled from 2nd gear and I still was able to pull on him the first race. The second race was closer because I gave him a better head start. I gave him a head start both races. I will give that EF props because it is a very fast car for such a simple setup. They actually call that car KING of HWY 27 which is a road in Miami famous for street racing. He is out ther taking alot of ppl's money. Those two races were on shitty tires i have some drag radials ready when I get use to driving the car more.

I think he means from a dig. Unless you're king of modulating boost and throttle, a more realistic street car will have an easy time taking the lead in 1st & 2nd, putting enough distance to keep you away until 4th. You have to realize that anything past 10% wheelspin is just lost power. If anyone thinks otherwise, a quick search on streetfire will show 3nd gear turbo cars have no more pull on the e-brake than 1st gear burnies from a stock motor, given the same rubber.

I love the BOV in the vid, but I just don't understand using such a big turbo on a street car with 93 octane. Big HP is only usable on the track, which is where c16 belongs. I know of a few 400whp 1.8's using 57trims, and they also have traction issues in 4th with fresh drag radials. But if its fun and fast, does it really matter?

yeah the turbo is an overkill. I was going for 600whp but ended up putting the car up for sale so I just wanted at least 400whp on pump to sell it. If the current deal doesn't go through with the seller I am going keep the car and go for 600whp or anything near it. As I have been getting more seat time driving the car at this power level I have learned how to use 1st & 2nd gears so that a stock GSR won't give me 6 car lengths from a dig. I might go to the track on Wensday to see what it does on some DR's, looking for low 12's Honda's the ****!

Crazy video. I would like to see what it would do with some good rubber though.

We were hoping for high 11's but the track sucks and the tires wasn't heating up good enough. Also switching from 4th to 5th before the traps doesn't help either.

I have a similar setup and it works very nicely on the street on pump gas.

Do you have any pics of your set up? I am trying to sell my car but if nobody gets serious with it I am going to go for 600whp on 110 or C16, do some suspension work, tires, and hit the track. I would love to hit the times your running.

I hear u. When it's spinning in 3rd or 4th then it starts to hook it feels like you're in a sling slot.
