huge problem!
just got my swap done etc, did it myself....took the car out on the road today and while doing 80km/h my crank pulley flew off, tossed my alternator belt and p/s belt off as well........i figured i was only 5 mins from home so i could drive it there then shut t off and re install the pulley, needless to say the car shut off 2 seconds later and it wont start. I look and the crank etc that holds the timing belt on slipped off causing my timing belt to slip off, now i didnt hear any crazy noises etc. I just re installed the belt and tried to start the car but it wont start, just keeps turning over and over.......any ideas?
Timing off maybe? I don't want to sound like an ******* but that sounds pretty bad to me, but for God's sake don't keep trying to start it if it's out of time.
you swapped in a d16y8 right? im not sure if it is a clearance motor.. But if your positive everything is top dead center i would check compression. I guess you found your problem from your other thread eh? good luck you could always pull the valve cover off and rotate the crank with a ratchet to see if everything is moving smoothly.. but definately check compression. damn that sucks..

you probly have bent valves. since its a y8 its ballanced externaly and since the pully came off you are probly garenteed you fucked something up. like they are saying make sure it is in time if it is run compression test. if it fails pull the head and see if you have bent valves wich you probly do.
