Looking for 275-300whp on daily driven B18C-1
Hello. I am planning to turbo my B18C-1. I am not looking for outrageous horsepower, but more of a usable and smooth power-band. After looking into a lot of the turbo manifold designs available (i.e. log, ram-horn, top mount etc...) I am still unsure of what to get. I am looking to retain power steering, as well as my A/C. The radiator is not an issue (as in switching to the 1/2 style from a Civic). I am fairly sure a GT28RS turbo will be sized nicely to this motor, and power goal, but I am open to more options. I understand that I will need to install stronger axles, and an LSD. I currently have an Exeddy stage 2 (3 puck sprung center) clutch, and Exeddy flywheel. My tuning will be done by a professional, using a Hondata S200b and is likely to use 550cc/min injectors (unless larger injectors are needed). I have considered changing the stock GS-R intake manifold with either an Edlebrock, or Skunk2, but I am open to other suggestions as well. As for the internals... well, the stock bottom end has 145,000 miles on it. I know that new pistons, and rods are in order (any recommendations?), but I am not sure if I will need to sleeve the block or not.
My Goals:
275-300whp from a B18C-1 with great spool, and daily drive-ability (read:reliable, and fun)
My Questions:
Which turbo is a good choice?
Which manifold design/brand (must maintain PS and A/C )?
What internal motor work is needed (pistons, rods, sleeving etc...)?
What injector size is good for the said power?
What other upgrades should be made to the car in order to cope with the said power?
Cheap. Fast. Reliable...
Since I can only pick two, I want my car to be fast, and reliable... cheap is nice at first, but nothing beats doing it right the first time.
Edit: I should note that this is a stock GS-R motor, and in a 1994 Integra GS-R chassis.

i dont mean to be an a-hole but if you search the archives you will come up with a lot of really good info to help you decide what you want to do and what parts you need. pm me if you dont know how to search i'll tell you.
if you really want my opinion here it is: you said you want to be fast and reliable, then i recomend forged pistons and rods, best manifold for that hp goal can be found at http://www.meutek.com they have a lifetime warrenty ac compatible and they flow really good. 550cc injectors shouold be enough some people may say 440 will do it also, you have many choices on what turbo to get t3/t04e is a good one, so is a GT30R if you got the $$, just DONT get an ebay turbo, aside from that a good exhaust is good to have 2.5"-3" should be enough. a chipped p28 for your fuel needs http://www.phearable.net is a good place to get started they have fast shipping great cus serv and really good basemaps, eventually you want to get it to a dyno though. also an intake manifold would be good aebs sells a good one for low price you can find them at http://www.racespecialists.com these guys got good prices but communication could be a bit laggy.

Thank-you very much for the input. I have searched (both here, and abroad) this matter, but also wanted to hear from some of the people that have a turbo'd setup. I do not plan to cut corners with this build, so an "eBay turbo" is definitely out (before it was ever even considered ). That manifold looks very nice, and the lifetime warranty is a plus.
At this power level, are any of brand X pistons going to perform any more reliably than brand Y? The same for rods as well?

Re: (WalkerGSR1)
Thank you. I have heard nothing but good things about CP pistons.

That is something to look into.

I don't know man....people been having alot of luck with them. Plus there is that one company that rebuilds them with true Garrett internals. The cost of a new Ebay turbo and their rebuild, essentially making it a garrett is pretty cheap still.

And yea there are some ppl having good luck with ebay turbos.A t3/to4e .57 trim should do it just make sure you run an OIL RESTRICTOR. But if you had the cash id go with something like a gt2871r..Its all in the tune! And theres really no need to install stronger axles unless you plan to drag it and run slicks. A new IM wouldnt be a bad idea but you can still meet your power goal with the gsr IM.A log manifold will also get you to 300hp and you will also be able to keep AC and PS. Before you build it, do a compression test to see what kind of shape the motor is in.And also there is no need to sleeve it. 550 injectors will be good.

Oh and a 2.5 or 3inch mandrel bent downpipe and exhaust. And an intercooler that is sized right for your power.

Keep your motor stock for now, and search the FI for sale forums on here for a a/c compatible kit using a simple Garret t3/t4 turbo, you can always upgrade turbo and accesories later on. I would also buy 750cc injectors or bigger, just to give you some room to grow. Hope this helps

whats the cost? ive worked at a shop that sold a lot of turbo's and we always got guys comming in/calling with tons of problems with the china fab turbo's. i just dont see why you'd waste your time when you can get a quality turbo for about $500.

Yea i wouldnt really say its worth it.. An ebay turbo is around 200 bucks, and a real deal garrett is a little under 600.
