Ok before you flame me this is an honest question. I have this tial with a 7psi wastegate spring. With the newer versions they discontinued the 35mm, I guess the slightly pointier looking one. Is the one I have a 38mm because of the flatter looking top?

some of the newer 35mm's come with that top as well..

only 2 ways to be 100% sure

measure the inlet
email tial with the serial number

 

Ill email the serial number to tial. Its already bolted up, to lazy to remove it and measure.

 

if u have a 38mm and u say its 7psi it would boost a bit higher with the 35mm so just go for a run and see were the boost guages go!
35mm TiAL / spring discription
.3 bar / 4.35psi / small yellow
.45 bar / 6.53psi / small red
.65 bar / 9.43psi / small green
.8 bar / 11.6psi / small blue

38mm TiAL

.25 / 3.63psi / small yellow
.4 / 5.80psi / small red
.5 / 7.25psi / small green
.6 / 8.70psi / small blue
.7 / 10.15psi / big yellow
.8 bar / 11.60psi / big red
.9 bar / 13.05psi / big green
1.0 bar /14.50psi / big blue

 

We tried to get it tuned at 17psi but it wouldnt really hold it the boost would kinda drop. Ive defintely seen it hit 16psi. The reason why I asked is because I bought the large green spring so it can hold the boost. I havnt installed the spring yet. Any advice on that?

 

just test with w/g no boost controller, also what kind of boost controller are u using?

 

Its a manual boost controller. Halmans boost controller. I'll try disconnecting it and see what happens. I thought I ordered the 7psi spring with it. I can only double the wastegate spring psi if Im not mistaken right?

 

depends on which big spring u got? which ever big spring u got and the small spring just add the both and youll get whatever psi

 

good thing you said "add" to the small spring already inside of it. I would have just taken that one out and installed the big green one alone.

 

if u have the small green on it right now and you add the big green it would yield almost 21psi thats assuming u have a 38mm.

 

Oh so if I take out the small green and put in just the big green itll be 13psi and change??
