Whitaker's H1 ITR Civic- FS
For Sale
-1992 Honda Civic CX hatchback
-OEM color “Milano Red” (recently sprayed) paint
-Recently built B18C5 powerplant
-Integra Type R 5-lug suspension/brakes
-Full race cage built by James Evans of JE Import Performance
This is a fun, fast, and equally reliable racecar. It is perfect for both a rookie and also for someone who aspires to win a NASA regional or national championship.
History:
Car has won two ECHC H1 championships. With Jack Harris at the helm, the first championship was won in the inaugural Honda Challenge year of 2002. I also won the ECHC championship in 2004, just one year after finishing in 2nd in 2003. The car has been in storage/retirement since the end of 2004, but with the newly-formed Honda Challenge H2 class, she is ready to possibly dominate yet again!
Between 2002 and 2004, the race results for this car were remarkable in the 30 races it entered. It had just one finish outside of the top 4, which was due to a punt from the lead.
Victories were had in 16 of the 30 races, while 5 seconds, 6 thirds, and 2 fourths make this car arguably the most successful H1 craft in the history of the Honda Challenge. In addition to these results, the car has never suffered a DNF for any reason, including mechanical failure.
Please contact John Whitaker at itr88h2@verizon.net if interested. Thanks.

guys, this is a very nice EG hatch racecar.
after an entire season of looking at its rear bumper and finishing second to it constantly (in 2002) i can say that it is a really good HC car!

PS John, about 5 years or so (maybe more, maybe less) you are going to kick yourself for ever selling that car !!!!! i will NEVER sell my EG!!!!!

Yeah, maybe Todd.
She is a really great race car. However, she needs to be raced and not just sit in storage year after year.
Applications are being accepted.

hope she goes to a good home.
"the car has never suffered a DNF for any reason, including mechanical failure."
impressive....
that is something that the H1 naysayers could stuff where the sun does not shine.

this car IS the most successful H1 craft in the history of the Honda Challenge. In addition to these results, the car has never suffered a DNF for any reason, including mechanical failure.
Note: during the entire 2002 season it was the ONLY car driven to and from the track, along with normal day to day commuter duties. Qualified and finished first in class AND overall throughout the complete 2002 season.
Wish I had money :sigh:

Thanks all-
Cool pic, Jack. Can you believe that was almost 5 years ago?
This is a truly special little car. Many "B-series hatchbacks" have been built and raced, but none could match the results of this little scooter.
This car is far greater than the sum of it's parts.
John- who really doesn't care if she sells.

Update-
Lots of interest, some serious, but no deposits as of now.
Note-
Couple questions about the race pics above. They were from Beaverun in 2004... and yeah, I won both days by a hair. Six or seven drivers/ cars could have won H1 that weekend, the racing was that close. Best ECHC H1 weekend ever, IMHO.

<<Deal's Gap Flashback. It's good to hear the kaa is still running strong. If only we had HC in the real midwest - maybe this would be my target instead of SCCA

Good times!

John, I think W. **** has an in-car video of himself where he's behind you at Beaverun for a lap. Let me know if you want it as I could probably get the link or I might even have a copy.
