Default sk2 manifold on a 97 gsr need help!!!

I know i could use the new pro series sk2 manfiold on my 97 gsr head but i was wandering if i can reuse my throttlebody, throttlebody bracket, with the gsr throttlecable? I heard people said that i have to use ITR throttlecable with itr bracket is that true?

i know you can use your throttle body.

i did this on my ls and the throttle cable worked but as for the bracket i had to modify it so it will work.

you can use the bracket and cable but it will raise the cable higher and make it look funny. I seen it on my friends jdm gsr motor with the skunk2 intake manifold. You can use the itr cable and bracket for a cleaner and better look.

using the stock gsr thorttle body and cable would expletive up your idle with the hood closed.

throttle body size has nothing to do with your idle you'll be fine

i am talking about the hood moving the cable not throttle body size.

I thought the the OP wanted a S2K manifold on a GSR head

I need to get my eyes checked.

No, it wouldn't. My friend has it in an EH and his hood clearance is fine with the cable.

if you think about it, the EH has a smaller engine bay compare to integras

It is reccomended to use the type r throttle cable and throttle cable bracket, also if you do that you need a different throttle body reel for the cable since it attaches going the other way, I used one off a D series throttle body I had laying around. On my Integra GSR with the hood closed it did make my idle stay higher from the hood pressing on it. If i came to a stop and pulled the back of the pedal with my foot the idle would drop, it was very annoying. I reccomend getting the type r parts. The GSR throttle body can still be used without any issue.

so i ask... does the throttle cable mechanism hit a flat spot in the hood or does it hit on a hood support? basically trying to find if the problem can be simply fixed by just cutting out a support in the hood? (if this is a stupid question to some i'm sorry, i don't memorize how the structural support is laid out on the bottom side of hoods HAHA well maybe my corrado cause i do nothing but work on it...)

qucik question - I assume the dual runner setup helps the GSR motor with low-end torque? I am thinking this mod makes sense with cams etc - but will slapping on this manifold and getting the ECU chipped make a huge difference?

personally i don't have one yet. and by me i mean the car i've been working on, but the point of the manifold would be to help where Honda really focuses their power... up top... i know when i launch the turbo B17 i'm already in VTEC... who needs a dual stage manifold to help down low if you're never even using it?

Yeah, but if you're daily driven, you can't launch from every redlight. On the skunk 2 manifold, don't you only gain power from like 7k+rpm? Do you gain power all the way through with the ITR manifold, or are they all the same?

From what I have read - ITR, skunk2, blox, AEBS are about the same design - the aftermarket ones are lighter. I am not sure if the pro-series skunk2 is any different.

understandable for daily driving concerns, but if you're worried about daily driving then why are you buying the pro series and not the regular one? you have to make a sacrifice some where... stock sacrifices high end potential skunk 2 sacrifices low end... maybe this manifold is not for you if you want to low end power...
