Is it true power steering was not a standard feature on these year civics?
Buddy of mine just bought one and I can't believe there was a car out on the market in the 90's without friggin power steering.

Yeah, what do you except. These car are econo-box.

Only the SI came with powersteering for the hatch models.

 

the dx also came in a coupe version. in the coupe version only the ex came with p/s.

 

And then there was the sedan version. In sedan version i believe only the LX and EX came with p/s.

 

four door lx does come with power steering but my 95 civic coupe (dx) had it factory....

not true, my 93 DX EJ2 has power steering, so does my 95 EX EJ1

 

they have power assist no? not power steering, but like a bit of help... but yeah it was optional i thought for that years

 

my DX doesn't have power assist, it has power steering

 

ive had pumps and belts on both so if that considered power assist than sure

 

Wow..there's like 8 posts about different parts of one thing...talk about a ******* eye sore...

Here, lemme try to clarify all of this (add it all together):

Hatches:
Si came with it, DX was optional

Coupes:
EX came with it, DX was optional

Sedans:
EX came with it, LX came with ... I think, either it came with it or it was optional...

I could be wrong about the optional parts..but that's the general gist of it.
That's from 92-95 (Fifth Gen). Pretty sure that's right.
