Top Speeds?
Those of you with good data logging systems, what is your typical top speed at the end of the longest strait?
I'm thinking:
summit point = 132sh
Beaverun = 120ish
MidOhio = 125ish
I don't have any real data other than my crappy speedo. If you know your top speed plz post the track, the speed and your cars class. This info might be uselfull in picking FD gears and tire diameters. Thanks.

H1 EG hatch powered by K20A2:
just last november, on a nice cold day with 225-45-15s; she was "ballin' out"; man, i must not have the tune right on a warm day, cause it felt SO much stronger on a 50 deg day. was seeing over 8k in 6th gear with a 5.06 FD. speedo was buried beyond 130 and was pointing pretty much straight down.... gotta be well over 140 mph coming into T1 at Summit Point. that is a very fast track, BTW, due to coming onto a fairly long straight from a very fast T10 (95 mph, i'd say).
it took some concentration in the brake zone to haul 'er down, cause my EG likes to dance when you hit the brakes over 130 mph!

Have you played with the rear toe adjustment? Do you have stock bushings in any of the joints back there that may be deflecting too much? Have you tried moving the brake bias a little more to the front?

hi hapahaole!
i have zero toe in the rear (1/8" toe out in front). stock rear trailing arm bushes in the rear (and front). brake balance is good; front locks just before rears.
it used to be very very very nervous, but lately i have added a fairly substantial "ducktail" lip to the rear hatch, with a pair of jackbolts for adjusting the angle. currently, i have it at about 15 or so degrees elevated. its much better than before; just moderate dancing now!
but, compare that to my street car; a stock suspended evo; the evo is totally rock solid under heavy braking from that speed; absolutely no drama.
i dont think the honda engineers ever planned that their DX civics would be trying to slam on the brakes at 145 mph?

157mph on back straight VIR.
To get actual speed you need tire size, gearing and rpm. Use this:
