So i took out my old GS-R intake manifold and put a skunk2 in. its working fine now. (motor wise). but now i have no power brakes. (its like driving down the road with your car off trying to brake but all the time) im pretty sure all the hoses are hooked up. could a loose line or bad vacuum seal on the black box canister thing under the manifold by the oil filter cause my braking power to completely fail???

I'm stumped any ideas. oh the motor is a 1994 JDM GS-R in a 99 Si 5sp if that helps any.

Stupid question, but did you hook the brake booster back up correctly?

The big black hose that used to hook to the back of the intake mani. Because it sounds like it's not on there. Or maybe you somehow got it backwards with the check valve now going the wrong way. Almost impossible to do, but I guess it COULD be done if you tried hard enough if you actually took the line off the brake booster.

 

on the booster itself? or the lines going down the firewall?

 

See where this guy has the line seperated? That's the one I'm talking about. If you somehow have that in backwards, the check valve isn't going to work right.

About the only thing I can think of is that you're not getting good vacuum on that line. Pull it off the intake mani with the motor running and check to make sure that you actually do get a vacuum on the port on the manifold.

 

the hose your talking about runs from the top of the manifold to the booster?

Here's what mine looks like.

Mine has a "T" in it to supply the vacuum manifold, but you get the idea. That's a B16 in a 00 Si

 

I am confused on this one. Where the does that T'ed line go to? U said vaccum manifold but it already goes to the manifold above where it's suppose to. I think you hooked something up wrong cause u don't need to T that line.
