Default Need help with 92 Accord

These pics are from the driver's side of the car. Looking up from the bottom. The hole in the picture has coolant spewing from it. Anyone know what this hole is? It is perfectly round so I'm guessing it is supposed to be there. It is just to the right of the timing cover.

Close up of the hole:

His water pump is leaking. It needs to be replaced. If he puts JB Weld over the hole, the coolant will get all over the timing belt.
