I'm replacing the clutch in my 90 Accord. My problem is that the clutch alignment tool does not fit securly when installing the clutch/pressure plate. I've gone to 3 different parts stores and the alignment tools of several different kits are the exact same. They say that their kits fit all manual accords for several different years. I'm at a loss because the tool is longer than where the hole in the flywheel is deep and the diameter of the alignment tool is significantly less. So, I can never get the clutch correctly aligned because there is so much play. I was wondering if I have a non factory motor but the number on the motor is F22. So, If anyone knows what my problem is or what I'm not thinking of... please advise.

Just go buy a clutch for your car same year as you have at the parts store just a cheap one and use the tool that comes in there and then take it back thats what i did.

 

That's what I did. I looked a two different kits and both of them had the same alignment tool which do not fit.

 

go buy a universal clutch alignment tool. They're like $15-20 and have adapters for all size clutches. Pep boys and Caps both carry them.
