Racing Seats or Air Bags (SRS) what do you choose?
I disconnected my seats on my 2000 accord while the battery was connected. Once you do that, it sets off an error which turns on the SRS light and disables the air bags.
SOOOO....I'm wondering if you want to put in racing seats, does that mean you have to give up your air bags? THere's a wire underneath the seats of my accord that have sensors for the chair positions. I assume once those are disconnected, and racing seats put in, you have to go without air bags. Not worth it in my opinion...

that does not make any sense, your seatbelt has nothing to do with your airbags
i have a one piece seat, and never had that problem,
i cut the harness off too, but if you really want to be picky you can make sure not to cit the wire harness

hmm...well, as far as unplugging the seats, I know that for sure because 3 stikin times I unplugs the seats to work on my stereo and forgot to unplug the battery (or just forgot to plug them in afterwards) and I got that SRS light to stay on. THen I had to pay $40 at HOnda to get them to turn it off...
Thing is with the 2000 accord they implimented a new kind of air bag system that can very deployment rates based on where the drivers seat was located. Not only that buy they also had side air bags as an option so putting a racing seat in this car would be difficult unless you find some way to override that sensor.
yeah that is true but you have to remember as far as front air bags I am pritty sure they are mandated on all cars past like 1996 or so so if you take out the drivers seat and the front air bags become disabled you can run into some problems.

I am pritty sure they are not only illegal but very unsafe as well. Something about not being able to implement them properly into the car or something without a cage.
ah oh well... I am sure what ever was said was just a misunderstanding but well it is in the past
Hope I didnt say anything a while back that offended you.

for me...the stock accord seats are sporty enough...if you look at most other seats in other brands of cars they are pretty plain...but the accord seat has a certain subtle sportiness to it all on its own...but i guess if you wanted a 1 piece to save weight the stock seats won't work to well...those are just my rambling thoughts anyways!
you dont need an all out cage to use a harness all you really would need is a harness bar
