91 accord
what is wrong?
I took off all my wheels and see no leak the pads are like 95% left....
then i check my lines for crack and no crack, the brake fluid is full,
The car stops ok i guess but after a long wait at the red light the pedal slowly sink down not all the way though but the car is still braking...

 

Your description of the problem is just flat out a CLASSIC.
This is a brake master cylinder going south, the fluid is bypassing the seal in the cylinder.
When replacing it if at all possible use OEM or 'Adler' brand. The push rod adjustment is critical and you could wind up with either brakes hanging up or a very deep pedal.

 

sorry for jacking your thread but this happens to me as well but only on hot days in traffic? i also heard that my brake lines are going bad ?thanks in advance

 

its the master cylinder, its a common problem in cb7s 4th generation accords. Replace it and make sure you re bleed the system.

 

i agree taht the original posters problem is def the master cylinder, as stated he desribed the symptoms to a T.

as for a similar mushy pedal feeling in traffic/hot days, try flushing out your brake fluid with new and see if that helps. Dot 3 brake fluid dosent have that high of a wet boiling point and all, and as it sucks up more and more water, it gets even lower. hot day + stop n go traffic = boiling brake fluid if its really old. So try that and see if it helps. Brake fluid should be changed every 2 years.

 

well I think before you change the cylinder bleed the lines etc and see if you can stop it. I know mine did and I didn't change the cylinder. They used to sink to the ground but not any more. Master cylinders arent cheap so....

 

yeah bleed first with fresh brake fluid if you have not changed it in a while
