**** off. The guy asked a legitimate questions, if you have a problem with what he wants to do with HIS car than you can leave. Thanks for your understanding.

You'll want to use washers on the back bolt on each side of your hood hinge's.

how big of a difference will the hood mod make for underhood temps? has anyone ever tested this...i got 3 mph in the 1/4 by doing the TB/IACV coolant bypass mod...sometimes i notice the engine temps raise a bit when i beat on it and id like to get the engine temps down a bit more...hopefully get sum more mph out of it

I believe the 'hood prop' is meant specifically for cars that run individual throttle bodies.

Logically speaking, it makes the most sense for propping your hood in the rear if you run ITB's. If you're running just a standard intake, you could put a vent in your hood directly infront of the intake filter.

i saw a thread where a guy used an infrared(i think) heat sensor to read the engine temp before and after this mod, and it was 10-15 degrees cooler (dont quote me i couldnt find the thread this is from memory.)

I raised mine, because my damn supercharger creates some insane heat, and I can use all the help I can get by vacating heat pockets, and creating a better flow of air.

well if i do the mod it wouldnt be for induction it would be more along the lines of engine cooling...it would be a track only think if the difference is minimal since i dont much care for the look of the mod...but if it really drops underhood temps by 10-15 degrees ima have to do it...i already made a pretty neat little ram air dealie with a spare headlight i had

Never thought of this one. I can see the practicality in this as well.

Excuse me fuckass. I misread his question, I thought he asked how to open the hood. I apologize to the OP. Thanks for your understanding.
