a fully built head with b16 auto cams wont really make much power past 8500 ish. that same fully built head say on maz or a specifically spec'd set of cams will spin alot. is this a drag application? auto x? we need a little more to go on here.

there are lots of guys buzzing those LS cranks to 9000+rpm with no problems.

if your making power up that high just make sure the bearing clearences and crank balance is bang on.......

if you have the valvetrain, and its balanced, and the cams to breathe up there, you shouldnt have an issue.

my setup. b16, REV everything, gsr cams, spun mine to 9800. peak power was right there. i think you had another problem, not over reving.

you have a b16 that loves to rev. he's talking about using a LS crank with a longer stroke.....it can rev.....maybe not as safely as the B16 crank but some guys do it.

i have friends with ls-v's that rev over 10k. what i was saying, is that cams have as much to do with it as everything else. thats all. see my first post asking about cam specs. p.s. i an planning on spinning my gsr to 11k.

we take our ls/vtec race engines to 10,500 at every run. stock cranks, no problem.
