Default DOHC ZC Code 4 - 89 Integra ECU

Problem just started yesterday. I would be cruising down the road and the car would shudder pretty badly like it was coughing or something. CEL came on and I checked the ECU and I got a Code 4.

Looked up code 4 and it says "Crank Angle Sensor" but I haven't the slightest clue where it's at.

It's a black top ZC running in a 91 Civic hatch.

Do I have this part replaced alone because when I called the auto parts store they said that the distributor is all the comes up. Any advice would be appreciated.

the marks on your crank pulley must be off?has your timing belt been cheanged?

u have a arrow on your crank gear it must be alined with a arrow on the block.if its not it would throw that code.

Crank angle sensor is that thing sticking off the end of the exhaust cam. In a single cam motor, it is integrated in the distributor. If you modified your stock EF Si harness when installing the motor, you should had to have removed two wires from the distributor plug and routed it to the CAS. Perhaps the connections have come loose?!?

the Crank sensor (code 4) is inside the distributor - the sensor on the end of the exhaust camshaft is the Cylinder Position sensor (would give you a code 9) - sounds to me like you need a new distributor
