For the 96-98 civic?
It's easy...just go to the hardware store and get them little U Nuts.
example: http://store.nutsandbolts.com/....html
This is what they look like.
You'll need 11 of them. Get a bolt and washer for each and you're good to go. There are factory mounting holes for each...you'll see.

i used the little clips that are often used on bumpers to hold license plates on. They are square with a threaded hole in the middle, you pop them into the bumper, and then you stick the screws through the lip and into the clips in the bumper, and as you tighten the screws the clips open up tighter on the bumper. I work at a car dealership and they use them on all the new cars so they are everywhere, so i took a whole bunch and it worked great.

rawr~!! i went to naapa, home depot (hardware depart), lowes, and i they dont have u clip nuts
i know ace has them but there isnt one in my area
i think im going to go this route - 22 washers, and 11 nuts and 11 bolts. where do i mount them though? i dont want my lip sliding out. i need something to actually secure the lip to the bumper. cause if i just use bolts from the bottom up the lip could possibly slide out.

PM me if you need me to come over and hold your hand while you do it
not really.

Haha...how much you willing to pay for a kit. I'll seriously go to ACE, buy them and ship them if you compensate me.
You could even just use bolts and washers.

ill let you guys know how it goes.
im just saying you would have to tighten it down pretty good for the lip to not slide out from the bolt and washer. i want the lip and bumper to physically be held together by something. like the u clips.

Dude...you are seriously over-thinking this. The U-clips slide over the stock bumper in these little grooves. The lip is then attached to the bottom of the bumper with 11 bolts that go up thru the clips.

im not saying I CANT do this im saying i cant find the damn u clips. i want it securely on there but ill be alright. ill find another way. im not overthinking im just picky. thanks for the input though appreciate it
IMO, the Nuts/Bolts/Washers are better than the Clips. the clips are just that so its not as many pieces and a bit easier.
the lip mounting points, if its actually OEM are holes as are the mounting points on the bumper(well not necesarily but they are not totaly open)
Just take the bumper off flip it upside down on your lawn or something and you'll figure it out. you'll realize how secure to make it or how secure it will be once you finish.
I'v driven borderline dumped in my EK w/ my EK4 SiR lip and 4 dollar hardware kit i put together for a couple years now w/ no problems.
