Default Maintenance Required Light

My maintenance required light is on and my car seems to be running great only 51,600 miles on it and it's a 2004 Civic EX coupe. I disconnected the negative battery cable and that did nothing....any suggestions on reseting it?

When are people going to learn that on these cars, the only thing disconnecting the battery cable does is kick you out of the radio and makes you have to put in the code to get it to work again.

Shut car off
press trip odometer reset button
turn ignition key to ON position
hold odometer button for 10 seconds
You are done.

Thanks a lot man i went outside and did that just now and it worked like a charm!

In reference to the other guys post i have an aftermarket stereo and it didn't affect it at all, didn't even have to save my favorite stations or anything

I used to disconnect my '99 civic's battery all the time to reset my CEL and it worked fine. Either way, case solved.
