I just purchased the Lincoln 225. I did quite a bit of research and found that it offered everything that I need at a pretty good price. I am sure the Miller is just as good but I got a discount on the Lincoln.

They are both really good machines. I have the miller sync 200.
Because the machines are so similar, and it's quite likely you don't need any more than 200 amps, I would just buy the one that offers the best price.
You will be very happy with either machine, some great features for welding aluminum, very thin mild/stainless.

well, he actually decided to go with either the Syncrowave 250DX or the PT 275. He may have to do welding on 3/8" or thicker alum and whatnot so he figured he might as well get one big enough for the job. he wont be making turbo manifolds for Hondas or anything, and Im leaving for the Air Force in a month so I wont get to benifet from it mainly just general fabrication/repairs for people, some marine stuff and he might start build choppers, we'll see.

so he went from $2300 this morning to almost $4k budget now, lol

i went with the syncrowave.... but i did do a lot of research between the two, each one has a few other thing the other doesn't have.... but from personal preference, i went with miller, because it's just what i've always used... i have used both and find that they're both awesome and get the job done
