ok so im wiring up my gsr and my old wiring was like crap, so I decided to go ahead and change the entire wires for the distributor, but what im a little confused
about is the open wires, it looks to be like a ground or something,

Not on the end of the connectors by the distributor, but the other end of them,
they have a few wires which interwine with other wires. Whats up with those?
Will it matter if they are hooked up all together or what are they for?
