photoshop experts chime in!!! need help (non-car related)

Hey guys, I was wondering if there was anyway someone kind enough could alter this picture. I just need a basic outline of the spaceman, the shadow, and whatevers in the background that you would like to add. If you include the birds from the first picture into the second one that'd be ideally awesome!!!! but it could go either way. The important thing is that it has to be stencil style. Something like this:

I dunno how to make it look really good because of the lack of good shading contrasts in the photo but I believe you have to mess with the "threshhold". I did the same thing that you're looking for to a picture of myself but I had control of the lighting before the image was edited

Well seeing as how I don't know how to do it and I'm asking other people to help how can you expect me to not only know the right application, but to use it?
